Jenna Moog A.K.A. Mountain Mom
Tool(s) of the Trade: Alpine skis & Snowboard
Experience: I’ve taught skiing and snowboarding full time for two seasons at The Summit at Snoqualmie. My first year, I was an honorable mention for “Best Personality.” I am AASI certified level one. I enjoy teaching kids or adults, in groups or one on one, skiing or snowboarding. I went to Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and began work on a degree in Secondary Education with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Health and Fitness. I’ve also taught sailing and kayaking.
Background: I love teaching skiing and snowboarding because of the chances it gives to everyone involved; no matter what your level, there is joy to be had on the mountain. I love the atmosphere, people, and style of the snow sports culture. I love the unpredictability of lessons, weather, and accomplishments. I love the success I see on the slopes in the faces of students as they gain skills and confidence. I love being outside. I love knowing the history and almost every bit of terrain on the mountain, as this gives me the ability to answer questions and give tours with first-hand knowledge. I love that anytime someone asks me what I do, I get to tell them “I am a ski and snowboard instructor at The Summit.”
