Scott McBurney A.K.A. “McB”
Tool(s) of the Trade: Alpine skis
Experience: Years Skiing: 42,Years Coaching: 23
Certifications: Level 3 PSIA Alpine, USSA Coach, USSA Official, Buddy Werner Head Coach
Background: How I got into teaching/coaching: Arrived at Middlebury College (Vermont) and needed some spending money. Interviewed for a ski school job at Sugarbush, and within two years I was coaching the 8-12 year old program at GMVS (Green Mountain Valley School). I later decided that “hauling gates” for the “big kids” was no fun, but that skiing with the youngest racers on the hill was by far the best job on any mountain. It still is. What makes for a good ski day: any day, but the truly special ones are when I get to make arcs with my family; Kris, Tiger and Matthew. Favorite run: The one in front of me. Useless info: My hat was given to me when I was 12, have skied with it since.
