Tom Deacon AKA “Sir Thomas”
Tool(s) of the Trade: Alpine/ Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe… we won’t talk about my Snowboarding
Experience: Teaching since 2000 with the Summit Learning Center. Level 1 Alpine. Children’s “Instructor of the Year” in 2001-02. Private Instructor of the Year, SLC Programs Supervisor, K2 Ski Ambassador.
Background: Snoqualmie Pass became my second home during ski season and my church in the off season. My passion is for teaching and sharing my knowledge and love for the mountains. This passion takes me out of the Summit arena in the summer to the Canadian Caribou Mountains in British Columbia. I teach backpacking and outdoor living skill classes and I guide 75 mile canoe trips in the summer at the Bowron Lakes Provincial Park. My other interests are music, fine art, parenting, boy scouts and outdoor guiding. I am a trumpet and guitar player, as well as the father of 2 boys. I love spending time with my ski school family and cherish the long term relationships the mountains have blessed me with.
